CC Sabathia to join ESPN as an Analyst

Early Tuesday morning, ESPN announced that New York Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia will be joining the network as a baseball analyst this season.

Sabathia, who announced last month that the upcoming 2019 season will be his 19th and final season in the majors, is planned to appear on a number of ESPN shows, including SportsCenter and Baseball Tonight, also serving as a guest host on ESPN Radio New York’s Humpty & Canty show.

Currently, Sabathia along with Ryan Ruocco, welcome athlete and celebrity guests to the their “R2C2” podcast where they discuss wide-ranging conversations including sports, pop culture and insightful stories with the occasional curveball into food and parenting.

Sabathia has stated that as he prepares for his retirement, that he is excited to have this opportunity with ESPN, but that his focus above all still remains on “winning another World Series Championship for Yankees fans and the city of New York.”

Sabathia currently stands 14 strikeouts away from 3,000 for his career and four wins from 250. If he does as expected reach both marks, he will become the 14th player to do so in MLB history.
